Silver Dollar City's "Headin' West" Underway
September 12, 2009 - Branson, Missouri
Silver Dollar City's original musical production, Headin' West returns to The Opera House for a second spectacular season! This elaborate 45-minute stage show created especially for the City tells the story of American westward expansion in the 1860s through spirited characters, brilliant special effects, striking scenery and a rich musical score.
Audiences follow the heroic tale of Luke Stanley as he ventures from the Gateway City to the Golden State in search of a better life for his pioneer family. Along the way he encounters buffalo stampedes, whitewater rapids and other harrowing adventures.

Blue Planet once again provided support and programming for Todd Hensley, the Lighting Designer for this show. Mr. Hensley is a Principal at Schuler Shook Theatre Planners in Chicago as well as a Theatre Consultant and Stage Lighting Designer at multiple theatre and opera organizations across the United States.
