Blue Planet's Mike Gormley Enters PLASA Elections

Blue Planet Lighting co-owner Mike Gormley was recently nominated by the PLASA North American Nominating Committee to run in their upcoming elections.
Mike will be running for Vice Chair of the North American Regional Board and thus would also be serving as a member of the Governing Body if elected. Gormley has been a longstanding supporter of ESTA and their programs, which merged with PLASA in January of this year making the organization worldwide.
Mike Gormley began his lighting career in the theatrical and nightclub markets developing skills in design, programming and moving light repair throughout the 90's. He later turned his focus to the business side of the entertainment industry gaining knowledge in senior management, sales, accounting, marketing and computer networking. Together with business partner Kelly Koster, Gormley opened Hollister Missouri based Blue Planet Lighting in 2008 which has since earned awards as one of the top lighting companies in the United States by PLSN Magazine and remains a debt free company since inception. A leader in online social media and marketing, Mike is also credited with the creation of Light Nation Radio, Pro Lighting Supply Online as well as the Entertainment Stage Lighting Group on Linked-In.
With an election win, Gormley plans on using his broad range of talents and experience to help lead, grow and market all areas of PLASA for the benefit of the organization and the Industry.
